Going on hoilday in Scotland is always a bit hit and miss – so when you only get one day of good weather you have to make the most of it. We did – we did this;

Starting of from the car park below the Old Man of Storr, we headed out round Skye’s Trotternish Peninsular. The first pause came shortly after, for photos of the snow and sun on the Trotternish ridge, followed soon by checking out the view of Kilt rock.
We ate lunch on the north coast with views out to Lewis and harris – basking in the warmth of the sun. After lunch we headed round toward Uig – then over the pass of the Quiraing. The descent makes you glad you haven’t had to go up it – then at Brogaig you head south along the road already covered – the hills seem harder this way and are a bit of a slog (or is that cos it’s the end of the day).

Being a midweek day in mid-march the roads were really quiet – not so sure these single track roads would be so much fun full of summer tourists.
Distance: About 45 miles (73km)
TIme: 4hr 35min from car to car – but lots of stopping, for views, for lunch, for kissing and for more views.
